RULES & REGULATIONS
- The tournament will be played according to the Swiss system in 9 rounds and in a single group.
- The Night Blitz will be valid for the ELO FIDE ratings.
- The date of this tournament will be Thursday 9th of April 2026.
- The games will start at 10pm after Round 5 of the Open.
- The Blitz will be played at the venue of the Open tournament, at the recreation room of the Hotel MarSenses Paradise Club at Calan Bosch, Ciutadella de Menorca.
- An unjustified or unnotified no show will mean the immediate disqualification of the player.
- Each game will last 3 minutes plus a 2 seconds increase since the first move is made.
- Each player will have to be present at the game table at the established time, with a maximum allowed delay of 3 minutes.
- The tournament manager will be Mr. David Pons.
- The arbiter of the tournament will be AI José Francisco Suárez Roa and/or AI Eduardo López
- The tiebreakers will be the same as the main tournaments.
- Prizes:
- Champion: 300€
- 2nd place: 200€
- 3rd place: 150€
- 4th place: 100€
- 5th place: 50€
- Best under 2100 FIDE player: 40€
- Best under 2000 FIDE player: 40€
- Best under 1900 FIDE player: 40€
- Best under 1800 FIDE player: 40€
- Best under 1700 FIDE player: 40€
- The decisions made by the main arbiter will not be subject to appeal, and there will be no competition committee in order not to slow down the tournament.
- By signing in in this tournament, the players will be authorising their personal data and pictures to be published in different media (Chessresults, WEBSITE tournament, press, etc
- During the tournament, all players will promote fair play before, during and after the games.
- Joining this tournament will entail the acceptance of these rules and regulations.
REGISTRATIONS
The price will be 15€ and anyone can register up to 1 hour before the beginning of the Blitz. To sign in, it will be necessary to contact the organisers by e-mail or directly on spot at the gaming room. If any player registers after this deadline and provided there are places available, they will be required to start in the 2nd round.
